Which clutch??? I'm in the process of doing a Gear/Intake/Cam swap on my car and I need a clutch too. As far as I know I've still got the stocker with 87k miles on it, I purchased her with 60k or so miles on it and it was woman driven, so Im not sure if it was replaced or not(lol)...everything else was original though.
My goal is around 400rwhp and I have yet to take it to the strip, i probably wont for a while. I dont dump the clutch often at all, maybe five times in a year in a half, and im a pretty clutch friendly driver all around. IM TRYING TO STAY CHEAP HERE, so the LS7 clutch deal is a little too much for me since im going to have someone else do it for me. I drive a LOT! Lots of in town, lots of Interstate. Between 15k and 20k per year. Stock feel would be nice... but i can deal with a little more pedal if i have to. Also...what is clutch chatter?
What cheaper clutch would you recommend? LS6? Ram? Spec?
Key words: Cheap, 400rwhp, extra street, no track, cheap, cheap, and not LS7 swap expensive. $450...pushing the budget but doable.

Is your current clutch slipping or are you doing this because you assume you will need it? If you aren't planning on going to a track I would wait until your stocker was out of order. I would think unless you are running some drag tires that your tires will give up before your clutch will.

Well, the other day i dumped the clutch and then hit second, but it didnt spin in second. The clutch slipped then. I dont think there was any smoke but you could definately smell clutch. Durring regular driving and even WOT it doesnt act like anything is wrong. Im just assuming that its the stock clutch in it now with over 87k miles. Stock gears, 275 tires, i think could have played a role in not letting the clutch bite hitting second. Im just trying to think ahead because im in the process of putting together a 400rwhp set up with 4.10s.
