grind 2nd?
i was wondering if anyone knows why my car grinds on occasion when im shifting from 1st to 2nd. im shifting at 3000 rpm and the clutch is in all the way. i was thinking of checking for leaks.. is this grinding very bad for the tranny or what is it realy bad for.. thanks

Re: grind 2nd?
Sounds like you may have a worn synchro for 2nd gear. I dont think low fluid would do this because all gears would have the same problem if that were the case. The grind is chewing up the 2nd gear and the corresponding countershaft gear. Gear clash is bad. The severity depends on how long its been doing it, and how much its grinding.. You might wanna look into gettin your T56 rebuilt... How many miles are on it?
