Pilot bearing help

I am installing a new pilot bearing in the crankshaft and am not sure which way in goes in. The engine was originally an automatic, so there wasn't a bearing in there when I got it. Also, should the bearing be installed flush with the outside surface of the crank? Thanks for any help.

my pilot bearing bottomed out in the crank. i just put in a ls7 clutch today!

The end with the nice fillet on the inside edge points towards the tranny. Hammer it in so its outer face is flush with the face of the crank. DON'T hammer it in all the way.
