i have a 01 z06.
the tranny grinds in every gear unless i double clutch on shifts.
It also grinds when i hit the brakes. it almost feels like its coming out of gear.
also has vibration at 2.5k rpm, but goes away when the clutch is pressed in.

i just need a starting point.

With the double pump I would think air in the lines or a bad slave cylinder. I would try to bleed the system and see what happens from there.

 

Are you sure its the clutch grinding when you hit the brakes? Maybe you've worn through your brake pads and its just metal on metal when you try and stop.

 

brakes have 1k on them.

I can feel the shifter kicking out of gear when i hit the brakes.
