Paging McLeod Adjustable master owners... Ever since I had a local speedshop install my adjustable master, there's a lot more engine noise coming from the firewall area, even with the kick-panel in place.
Is this to be expected, if not what should I check? If yes, any tricks to quiet it down?

Re: Paging McLeod Adjustable master owners... What kind of noise are you talking about? Squeeking,etc? You could check to make sure the bolts are tight that hold the m/c to the firewall (13mm).

Re: Paging McLeod Adjustable master owners... 1. My valvetrain is about as loud with the door closed and me in the driver seat as it is with the hood open & standing in front of the car, engine idling.
2. Use of pedal causes groaning noises during pedal travel.
This noise was only there after the adjustable master install.

Re: Paging McLeod Adjustable master owners... Since the McLeod unit is a metal construction where the stocker uses alot of plastic in its construction, the McLeod is going to transfer sounds easier. And since the McLeod doesn't use a foam gasket where it mounts to the firewall like the stocker does, I think that metal to metal contact is going to transfer a bit of sound as well. So, nothing to worry about. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
As far as the groaning, it might be your clutch return spring. Try lubricating it with some white lithium(sp?) grease.
