bad shift fork

Default bad shift fork

i just bought a 2002 Z28 with a m6 and how can i tell if the 3-4 shift fork is bad? i would like to know so i can get it fixed before the warranty is over. thanks a lot

What does your trany do that makes you think its a bad fork?

i took it for a test drive for a little while and when i shifted into 3rd it made a raddle almost i cant exspane, i havent drive it enough, but only when i let the clutch out. im looking more for the warning signs of it going.

Sounds like the clutch if it only does it when you let out of it..

If when you let out the clutch and the shifter pops out of gear, you have a bent shift fork.

My 4th will not go in on high rpm shifts, it just grinds. Sometimes it will go in and then rocket out and hit my hand and it hurts.
