Default fixed my issue

well i was ready to drop the transmission to change the pilot bearing. but i wanted to check one more time for air in the system. on the LT1 T56 its an external slave cylinder. well i take the slave off and was ready to pump the rod in and out to bleed the lines, when i saw the ball cup strap that it comes with still intact on it. when you first put the slave on the trans, it should snap off and fall off, but this one didnt. it just came off of the ball end of the rod and was "choking" the rubber boot that holds brake fluid to the slave cyl. so i wasnt getting enough fluid in there. i went and snapped it off and the rod extended another 1/2-3/4" so i knew that that had something to do with it. after i pumped the rod 2 times and it was stiff so i know it had no air. went and put it back on, and the pedal feels a little stiffer, and there isnt anymore notchyness.

nevermind, its still notchy as ****. and still getting that grind. its like the synchros arent meshing up right or something. if i move the shifter slowly into the gear slots, or leave it 1/2 way in the slot it grinds.

it istn't either of those 2 things. your synchros are ground down and that's why you can't lock into the gear. YOU NEED MAJOR WORK TO YOUR TRANSMISSION. DO NOT DRIVE ANY MORE.

i can stay in gear, and everything. its that the clutch doesnt disengage all the way, and the input shaft still spins. the clutch doesnt wind down, something keeps spinning the input shaft.

synchros are great still.
