Default How much damage can i do?

I have recently posted about my 3rd gear problems with it popping out and foudn out its pry a bent shift fork...

last night on my way home from the gf's house i stopped at a light in 4th gear, went to put it in neutral and wouldnt come out of 4th, so im think ****!! gave it a little gas and it popped out, so wtf is the deal?

bent shift fork yea?

can i grenade my tranny driving it like this?

i was looking at t56rebuilds and they have just a steel 3-4 shift for, would this be all i need or should i get new syncros too? i dont really have the money for a complete rebuild so i would like to stay away from that as much as i can

thanks

The longer you drive it the more the repairs are going to cost. If you take it out and fix the problem, you might as well do all of the usual wear parts while you're at it.

Although Fcars have great torque, drive it 4th only will certainly take out your clutch too.

I was planning on driving it and completely just skipping 4th, it will come out of gear when you are moving no problem, its my only way to school in back i just want to make sure that driving it like that for a week wont completely wreck my whole tranny

Avoid both 3rd & 4th then as your shift fork is most likely what is damaged and it services both these gears.
