Pro shifting is OK, but if I had to do it over, I'd go face plated. My pro shifted trans is popping out of 3rd now. I did go through it and deburred it, but that didn't seem to help. It needs rebuilding. I probably have 100 passes on it and a couple hundred street miles.

I agree
The only time syncros slow your shifting is above 7k rpm. So basically if you don't shift higher than 7k you don't gain anything. (except the loss of drivability)

I dont know about him or if its really true about not slowing you down shifting, but I had mine faceplated,(one of the first on the street) because I was tired of going thru a rebuilt trans in half a summer here in MI. which is about 1 1/2-2 mo. I did the research and knew the hassels I would have to live with.

Just dont do it because you think its going to be cheeper than a full rebuild. When mine was all done it came up to around $1200 but I had to have parts replaced. I went thru 4 trans before this, one by D&D one that was in a 9 sec t/a and was cryod and 2 stock ones. I am hard on parts. I dont lift and I was shifting on the bottle. I broke 2nd in the cryod trans and 4th in the D&D trans. The others were just bad syncros. This one has held up to everything I have given it. But its not for a novis stick driver.
