Default Flywheels

I was hanging out with a bunch of car guys the other night.....they asked if I took my car to the track since I got nitrous on it....I told them no because my clutch slips on the street and wouldn't have a chance at the track with a 100 shot...I told them I was going to order one soon...they asked what flywheel I was gonna use, told them stock I guess......then they all said get an aluminum one....because it revs faster and lets more power through....but I was thinking that if it is lighter means it has less rotating mas.....which should make it bogg worse at the line.....what should I go with?

I dunno about anyone else but just the thought of an aluminum flywheel being shock loaded so hard on launch doesn't sound good to me. I don't know if there's any substance to my reasoning, but I got the billet steel one anyway.

i agree with rookie aluminum if for the corners for the straight stick with a steel flywheel

i do agree to a point with you guys....but it has more to do than just that...look at tim tosto, i am pretty sure he said he has ran an aluminum flywheel in his car with no problems....i just bought a spec aluminum flywheel to be used with my new clutch...i talked to spec and said the aluminum is fine but it all depends on your gearing if you do not want it to bog down too much....they also said the heavier billet steel is better for daily driving though, but will get you less power through than the aluminum.
