Major Problem!
Major Problem! T-56 Experts in here. Okay guys you have to help me here. Tonight on my way from a party the car was running fine and then all of a sudden after a hard run through second gear when I slowed down I started hearing this dull clicking noise all the time. It gets faster as engine speed increases and when I push in the clutch and then try to put it in a lower gear without rev matching it clicks real fast and loud. When rolling to a stop even with it out of gear it clicks at the same speed constantly. At a stop it clicks with the idle speed and then if I push the clutch in you can't hear it anymore until you let the clutch out. Is this a tranny problem or is it in the clutch?

I don't think it can be clutch because it does it in every gear and shifts into every gear fine. The clutch doesn't have any engagement problems. When in Neutral the clicking is even with the idle speed and then you push in the clutch and it stops after a second or two until you let out on the clutch. This tells me that the input or output shaft is causing the problem. The shaft should stop when you stopped and the clutch is pushed in. I am hoping it is clutch problem but a $700.00 clutch is a hell of price when I am not sure it is the problem.
It still could be a clutch disk issue since the disk is splined on the input shaft. Either way it sounds like you are going to have to drop the tranny so why not get a new clutch while youre at it?
