Default a4 to m6 conversion

I'm almost done with the conversion from a4 to m6 and am running into a problem i was hoping someone on here could shed some light on. First off, is there any difference at all in the pedal assembly from a v6 and an ls1? I got the pedal assembly from a salvage for a v6 assuming that it was the same. If they are in fact different, then i answered my own question. The problem is, i have the entire assembly bolted up, brake and clutch rod locked in place on the pedals, and the clutch pedal is sitting about 2-3 inches further back from the brake pedal. I compared it to other factory ls1 clutch pedals, and they sit evenly. I'm simply not getting the full throw on the clutch pedal. If they are different, and since i already have the holes for the master cut and everything bolted up, i've heard about an adjustable master. And if im correct, it involves cutting the rod in half, threading both ends, and putting nuts on each side of the rod with a barrel nut linking the two pieces together. In my head, i can't imagine why this wouldn't work. It should solve all my issues with the clutch problem, but if anyone can shed some light on the subject, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i looked up part number for V6 pedal assembly and LS1 pedal assembly both are different. so ya you need the LS1 pedal assembly

i realized that, but what i need to know now is WHAT was changed. Was it the position of the master or the position of the pivot point on the clutch pedal itself?
