Question about burning a clutch

Question about burning a clutch

I was at the gas station today and as I pulled away from the pump I revved to maybe 2,500-3,000 rpm's (made allot of noise from my cut out) let the clutch out a hair started rolling away and pushed it back in as I pulled around the car in front of me and then continued driving normally. As I was leaving some guy yelled at me saying I was burning the clutch. I do not see how this incident could of hardly burnt my clutch. Correct me if I am wrong.

stock clutch? guy was prob yelling to make you look dumb for revving up just to leave a gas station

You would smell it if it was burning.

if you must atract attention, just blip the throttle once or twice before you pull out. riding the clutch with the motor over 2500 rpms just to inch forward is a complete waste of clutch. i would slap someone if they did that in my car after i just paid $1k for a fresh clutch. same thing goes for rocking back and forth on the clutch when stopped on a slight incline. just press the damn brake, lol
