Default Pilot Bearing Issue!! NEED HELP FAST!!!

Ok here is what I got. I am putting a LS2 engine in my car. with a LS1 t-56. I got a pilot bearing from gm. But I cannot get my tranni all the way in. It's about 1/2" to 1" from my bell housing. I put my bell housing on first and then I can turn the motor over by hand and the output shaft will spend. The pilot bearing is sitting flush with the back of the crank. Does that need to go in more? Any Help would be appreciated

Thanks

They are a bitch to get fully in, I had to tap it with a hammer a few times to get it to pop all the way in.

clutch isn't centered. The pilot tools suck. I use an old inputshaft

It took me two hours moving the 100lb t56 around to finally get the input shaft to seat all the way in the pilot bearing.

You're input shaft is probably already lined up and already in the pilot bearing. That last 1/2-1" left is the slave resting on the forks of the pressure plate. Best bet is to go and get longer bolts and start tigtening down evenly. You'll only need 4. Once the tranny is flush with the bell housing, take them out and replace with the stock bolts.

Save yourself anymore time and just go get 4 longer bolts.

At first I was like WTF, mate? Then I did this and only putting light torque on all 8 bolts and went in a criss cross pattern with only turning each bolt 2 revolutions at a time and it fully eated in with no problems. I didn't have to crank down on the bolt either. I fought my tranny for 4 days trying to get it to go in the last 1/2 inch.

If the 6.0 is an iron block he may have the 1/2inch longer crank and an m6 will not work on that. Trust me, I had to swap cranks in mine. Maybe he will chime in.

Crack the bleeder on the slave so you're not fighting against it. It will slide right in by just tightening the bolts down.

Yes you need the ls1 pilot...it fits inside the crank about .400 less. I have the opposite problem and need an ls2 bearing. do you have the part number for the ls2 bearing you have? Chuck
