98 hydraulic question
98 hydraulic question i had a shadetree mechanic put in my clutch and now the pedal has shot to hell it doesn't feel like it engages even all the way to the floor
i hear the 98 slaves are no good should i replace the master and slave or what do you guys suggest

There is a night and day difference in 98 hydraulics vs 01-02 hydraulics.
When I changed my clutch to the LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel, I changed the slave and pilot bearing. It grabbed right off the floor and eventually adjusted itself to around the first 40% of the clutch release to engage the clutch.
I put in the 01-02 master cylinder and now without a doubt it RELEASES the clutch a lot. Now the release point of the clutch is around the 80% mark of the clutch release, putting it near the top. The feel though is like it's releasing it within the first bit of the clutch travel, and the rest of the travel feels like you really are ensuring it's released. Just listening to it engage/disengage, you can tell it's really letting go and snapping to grab the clutch if you slip the pedal.
The 98 hydraulics made me feel like I was just barely releasing it.
