whats wrong with 2nd? just finished and drove the nova with ls1 & t56. all gears work fine except i have NO second gear. shifter feels like it engages the gear just like all the others. leaving the shifter in second and giving it some gas just to move you hear a slight rubbing sound from inside the tranny. is 2nd gear completely gone or is it something else? anxious to get this thing on the road. thanks
Sounds like you broke the teeth off the synchro side of the gear. Common problem and we see it quite often. The only way to fix it is to rebuild. You can go into gear but when you let out of the clutch there is nothing allowing 2nd to engage.

I have a very similar problem. No noise tho of any kind and when I put it in second it feels like it's in neutral. Did you get yours fixed?
