Default P0704 help!

I have a P0704 code. The car runs and starts fine. The cruise control even works. Why am i getting this code? After searching here is what i have:

1. The bottom black rectangle switch will not throw a code, but will keep the car from starting (not my issue)

2. The white switch farther up will throw the code, can be adjusted, and will make the cruise control stop working. (again not a problem for me)

Does any one know where to get a replacement upper switch?

I also have a window switch for the nitrous, installed by previous owner. Will this affect the clutch circuit?

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the clutch safety switch on the clutch pedal linkage. I'll bet it's probably misadjusted. It would either prevent the car from starting if it's too far from the pedal, or allow the car to start without depressing the clutch. If you test starting the car with the clutch pedal out make sure you're in neutral. Also if it looks properly adjusted take a meter and check for continuity across the leads on the switch when you push it.

it wont start unless the clutch is within an inch of the floor. I tried that this morning. The car starts and the cruise control works exactly like it is supposed to from what i can tell.

Your cruise control should disengage with the slightest movement of the clutch pedal. Like I said, visually inspect the switch for its adjustment.
