Default 6 speed to 6.0L

i have a 6 speed tran. out of a 2000 camaro and i'm trying to bolt it to a 2005 6.0L motor out of a 2500 HD truck. What is happening is the input shaft is going through the pilot bearing and bottoming out before the bellhousing is tuoching the motor.( about 1/2 inch)Why is the input shaft to long??? is there a aftermarket bellhousing that would work???

I had the same problem with mine. It is out of a 99-00 not a 05. You have to use a ls1 crank.

My 6.0 is out of a 2002 Denali. Would I also have to shorten the shaft? Or should it just bolt right up?

It should bolt up. Does the crank stick out about a 1/2" past the rear main cover?
