How big is the hole in the bottom of the shifter??
Anyway, if its big enough, or if it can be made big enough, you might be able to put a threaded insert into the shifter. Epoxy it in there, and then screw it on.
Another option would be to carefully drill a hole through the side of the shifter ****, and thread it for a set screw. Or...you could drill through the shifter **** and into the shifter shaft and thread the hole in the shaft for a screw.
You could just epoxy it on there too if you dont want to take it off ever again. haha.
I dont know what the shifter **** is made up of...or what it even looks like off the top of my head. I dont know if its got metal or just plastic or what. So those are just ideas that popped into my head...
