Carbon Blocker Ring Help (Installation Information)
Carbon Blocker Ring Help (Installation Information) Guys we have had alot of calls recently about the notchy shifting customers are feeling after doing the rebuilds themselves. We also have found that most customers are not lubricating the blocker rings or bearings during the installation process.
We recommend soaking the carbon blocker ring kit for 2 or more hours before you start the assembly process and using a assembly grease on all roller bearings. Now this will be messy but there is a less likely hood of the blocker ring sticking during installation and it will give the blocker ring/bearings the desired lubrication prior to the first use of the transmission.
