Default STUCK in the middle of T56 removal

Ok, all this stuff out of my car, on jackstands:

Driveshaft
tq arm
wheels
entire engine compartment
shifter
bellhousing bolts
everything on engine *heads'intake/headers*
the starter
hydraulics
engine mounts

Now, I have it all off, but I can't get the T56 to budge. It's about 2-3 inches back from the block, but when I rotate the transmission, the entire block goes as well, and it's out of gear.

The car is on jackstands, how do I get the T56 off asap!!!

You're saying I need to remove the bellhousing from the transmission? Can it be removed with it attached? Or is it necessary to remove?

You need to unbolt the trans from the bell. leave the bellhousing bolted to the block. Undo the 8 trans to bell bolts & remove the trans. Then remove the bellhousing seperate.

The above instructions are per the GM service manuals. I have done it the "other way", but it weren't pretty and it's pretty much impossible to get the bellhousing -transmission assembly back onto the engine block. Believe me: I have pulled the transmission, replaced the clutch, and reassembled in less than a Saturday, easy. It goes so much faster doing it the correct method. (It's still a guy thing to read the instructions at a last resort)

So get that motor back onto the motor mounts and get 'er done.

It's an LT1 car we're talking about, right? If so you need to pull the fork down in order to detach it from the throwout bearing. First slide the little housing off of the two threaded studs which hold the slave cylinder to the transmission. Then, pull down on the end of the fork. If the transmission is pulled too far back the fork may be in a bind and won't come out. If this is the case you will first have to push the transmission back up flush with the block and then pull the fork down to disengage it from the throwout bearing.
