Why replace the master/slave when using and aftermarket clutch?

Why replace the master/slave when using and aftermarket clutch? Why is it necessary to upgrade to an adjustable master cylinder when using an aftermarket clutch? I know most people do it, but WHY?

Re: Why replace the master/slave when using and aftermarket clutch? Clutch finger height position. The hydraulic release bearing only has so much travel, and the factory clutch is set up so the fingers are in the proper position for full release.
Aftermarket units may have slightly different finger heights, and since the bearing itself is not adjustable, making the master adjustable allows you to control the release of the clutch. For instance, if the aftermarket unit had a finger position .050" lower than stock, the bearing may not travel far enough to make complete release of the clutch.
