stupid question ok, I'm trying to get my shift **** off for a clutch install, and i know it sounds stupid, but the damn thing wont come off! I can turn it for 10 minutes straight, and it just keeps getting loose and then tight again. theres no screw to loosen either, or at least not that i can see. it looks like the stock ****, but its a pro 5.0 shifter i think. idk it came with the car. its a leather shifter, but not the hurst one. any ideas???
This is not an insult but are you sure the leather wrapping is not spinning around the ball making you think the ball is turning. Grip it as tight as you can and then turn...

yeah i already tried that. i can feel it slipping sometimes, so i just grip it harder. i think its stripped, but i just took the stick off after lifting the console a little bit. I plan on getting a lou's short stick soon anyway.
