Re: clutch for 600 hp? I would look into either a RAM or Mcleod. The Cartek seems as of late to be a hit and miss clutch. Some guys have real good luck and some don't. Ram and Mcleoud also have an occasional issue, but the way the manufacturer handles the situation dictates whether the situation become a problem or not, and in my opinion RAM has been the best so far. SPEC just blames the hydraulics and CARTEK seems to have the "O WELL, WE CAN SELL YOU ANOTHER!" type attitude. I have also heard the CARTEK adjustable master sucks, no waite the exact word I heard was "BLOWS". They supposedly are used units and are not very good. The Mcleoud master is good but pricey. I have a RAM 6130/402 VDS with the RAM adjustable master and it flawless. Mine is just a pinch stiffer pedal then stock. I think a person should look at a clutch like this: the clutch is a wearing item like brakes and it will need replacing. The more aggressive the driving the faster it will wear. Whan purchasing a clutch you need to: decide what power level you are at, what type of driving use are you going to be doing(drag racing, autoX, street driving...), and in my opinion, the most important thing is, get a LS1 F-body clutch experienced installer. I don't care if its MTI,ARE, Rapid Motorsports, MMS, the guys down the street thats done tuns of them... You need to have someone with a knowledge base of this clutch design. Don't let your local repair garage try to do a LS1 f-body clutch install, 7 out of 10 times you will have problems. In the scheme of things and in the long run its not worth saving a few bucks. A good clutch with new hydraulics, with professional (quality) installation should cost no more then $1200-$1300 tops.
