Question What is the difference?

Hi guys

I would like to know if there is any difference between the T56 tranny on LT1 powered camaros and firebirds and the T56 on LS1 powered camaros and firebirds or it is the same on both engine types

really appreciate your feedback on that guys..

thanks

the ls1 t56 has a different front plate, input shaft, bellhousing, and slave cylinder. that's about it. i believe the lt1 trannys were manufacuted by borg warner while the ls1 trannys were build by tremec themselves. either way it's still a tremec design.

Thanks Wayne, but is it true that T56 tannys on LT1s especially the ones came on 93 Z28s are less desirable than the later models? The reason why I am asking is because i found a T56 tranny that used to be on a 93 Z28, and the guy is asking around $900 on it

any idea on that info.

thanks

if it were me and i had no transmission at the moment, i would just get one that came on an ls1 car. you can get them through advance autoparts for around 1400 right now and less than 50k miles. you will be at about that price with the ls1 parts plus the 900 for the tranny. i work at advance and have checked into it before, it's just easier for me to convert the one i already have. As for the 93 question, there may be a difference but i'm not aware of one. call tremec and ask them, they've been very helful to me.
