Default Should I Install a New Master and Slave

I will be installing a New Spec 3+ clutch and flywheel soon in my 2000 WS6. I was wondering if I should or needed to install a new Master and Slave cylinder at the same time. I have heard it was necessary but I am unclear why. If so would a GM replacement be suitable or should I go for a aftermarket replacement.

You have the less desirable hydraulics, you need the 01+, if your doing the clutch, do the slave, its internal and its foolish not to. You never mentioned milage of the car so take that into consideration.

I have a 02 t/a with 36k on the clock, I will be doing a 3+ soon, I am just buying all new ****, my slave got bent but in general its good to do it everytime, considering that your clutches are not blowing every 10k lol.

It has around 52k on it. I do beleve it would be a wise decision to replace the slave. Are the GM replacements the way to go?

Replace just the slave and you are good to go. Also... be carefull that the shim Spec provides is properly seated and centered when installing the slave or you will crack the housing of the slave while tightening down the tranny and have hydraulic fluid come pissing out. It happened to me TODAY and I had to order ANOTHER new slave.

New master and slave is always highly suggested when doing a clutch install if you still have the old stock master and slave.
