T56 trans problems
Well we have our first problem with the ls1/t56 s-10....The rear seal on the trans was leaking and ran low on fluid. I went to shift into second and I heard grinding....we checked the level and realized what was wrong....we then filled it up and everything seemed fine except when you try to shift easy into 2nd it kicks out of gear...If you rip 2nd it goes in fine. So what do you guys think should I drive it and rip it till winter or send it to sixspeedsinc.com now and get it over with.

If it kicks out of gear shifting it easy but goes in and stays in when shifting it hard you have an issue with either the fork pads on the 2nd gear side being broken and not pushing the slider into gear completely with little force or you have a worn slider and possibly syncro on its way out . I'm betting the fork pads are the issue but would definately replace the rings while its down and clean up the points on the slider and the 2nd gear as well . Also check the keys for excessive wear . If they look questionable , replace them with new stamp steel ones or even the billet replacements .
