T56 question

does anyone know if a T56 out of a 99 vette is the same as a T56 in a 98 camaro.

No a vette is a transaxle and will not work. There is no way to make it work either without changing just about everything.

The enitre units are different . I believe G force makes a main shaft that will allow the Corvette internals to be used in an F body but thats about it . The main cases are the same though

The case is different. The vette does not have a tailshaft housing like the f-body and the front plates are not the same. Only the center sections are the same.

Also we do the GTO transmissions all of the time. They are the same as the Z06 except different mainshaft and housing. Other than that the internals are the same. It would just cost quite a bit to do that to a vette trans when you can buy the GTO just a cheap.

so if i have a wrecked c5 that was totaled, could i make its t56 work for use in an f body. i already have the t56, are there parts available to put on this transaxle to mount it up to the ls1 or would i be cheaper to just buy a t56 or try to trade someone with a normal t56 for the vette unit?
