Default little problem

ok well i just blew my a4 up last nite at the track and im looking to swap to an M6, now my delima is i can either buy a new GTO T56 with 6k miles on it for 2k and i will just need the pedals, clutch, and flywheel. Or i can buy straight from my builder for 3k and comes with everything but the clutch and that just seems a little high to me, or i can get a T56 from a trans am on here with 64000 miles on it and comes with pedals, flywheel, center consol, and bellhousing, and also crossmember. it has 64000 miles on it but it seems like a good deal, or i can buy a brand new t56 from autozone that cost around 2200 and has a 15 month warranty but i dont really trust autozone ****. what would you guys do????

I doubt the transmission from Autozone is brand new . Its probably a rebuilt unit . As for the options you have listed , it really depends on what you feel comfortable with .

im looking to spend under 3k, the new GTO tranny seems to be my favorite but there is the tranny with 64k on it that comes with basically everything for only 1800.

If you only need the flywheel , clutch and pedals then go for it . I guess the going price for pedals are around $50.00 and I'm sure you can locate a good used flywheel for cheap and just buy the clutch brand new or slightly used if you can find one .

Well I build them so I'd go the cheapest route . For your situation , I'd probably go with the GTO unit and see if they will take a little less for it .

the GTO unit would be nice, and i could prolly get a decent clutch and pedals from my tuner. a flywheel isnt that much and i would have better piece of mind knowing that the tranny is brand new.

Yes the GTO unit will bolt up and fit . You have to change the rear selector and shifter but thats it . The selector is simple to change out and I would suggest getting a good after market shifter for it anyways . I prefer Pro 5.0 but everyone has their own preferences .

Yeah it looks like a low mileage T56 . The cases are super clean and it has not been painted silver . If you can work out a deal , go for it .

No one is going to give you a warranty on a used part unless they are a junk yard and have priced the "warranty" into the price .
