Vibrating shifter. whats wrong?

Vibrating shifter. whats wrong? ok so here's the thing. my shifter vibrates allot in third gear under acceleration (only third gear no other) i have a shift stick that says hurst so im guessing i have the optional hurst shifter. there is one thing though when accelerating and i push the stick a little bit furter into 3rd gear the vibration stops, culd it be that the shifter is adjusted wrong? couse when shifting to 3rd gear it feels like the traveling distance is much shorter then to for example 4th gear. please help me guys! ohh the T56 is newly rebuilt
