Arrow Need some help & advice...

So I take my car into the dealership where I work for a grinding when shifting hard into second gear. Once the tech pulled everything apart, he found the 2nd & 3rd gear synchos were shot, so we're replacing those along with the shift forks. I've got an extended warranty to cover the repairs, so no big deal, except that he tells me that this has happened because of the weak factory clutch & that as long as it's in there & I keep driving it the way that I do, there is a good chance that this will happen again down the road when I most likely won't have GM to pay for it.

The car only has 16K miles on it now & isn't too highly modded. It's only putting out 335 RWHP now, but I do have plans for heads & cam in the future.

So bottom line, if I've got to put a clutch in it now, whats the best I can do without breaking the bank, but still getting my money's worth.

The tech is recommending an Exedy twin disc, but says that will probably run about $1500 which is a little out of my range right this minute.

Any comments welcome.

Thanks.
Shay

I've been hearing nothing but good things about the LS7 clutch kit. I got mine from SDPC for $399.

Lol, there is no way you need that level clutch, go with a spec 3+ and be done

I'd probably go with an LS7 clutch as well . Factory feel and will hold the power .
