1-2 shift... HELP

1-2 shift... HELP Hey everyone! I'm new to the site and am eagar to hear some advice on my question.
I bought my 99 ss camaro with a t56 about three months ago, (My first manual trans car) and i'm still learning. Today i grabbed second gear at about 3/4 throttle and there was a horribe grinding. I'm sure i either released the clutch way too soon before second was fully engaged or shifted before the clutch was fully disengaged, but does anyone know if it could be something else?? This is the fourth or fifth time it's happened to me since i've had it. have i caused any real damage?? Any help or tips wolud be great.thanks so much everyone!

EVERYBODY goes through a similar learning curve and I think you answered your own question as to why it was grinding. Just need to practice a little more. These trannies are tough so I doubt you've hurt it that quick.

thanks very much stingray. that was a big help and took alot of worry off my shoulders because i know those t56s handle alot of horsepower and tourque, but i didn't know how much learning curve they can handle haha. thanks again. by the way, i know my way around wheel and tire questions. so if you have any, don't hesitate to ask.
