Clutch Install Errors
I read a lot about new clutches failing prematurely and reasons being due to poor install, improperly set up hydraulics. Would some of the pros please elaborate on common install/set up errors made which leads to premature failure? In other words, what steps should be taken to avoid premature failure?

Common fuckups:
- Not resurfacing the flywheel.
- Improper torquing of the flywheel and pressure plate bolts.
- Not using loctite on flywheel and pressure plate bolts.
- Not using a shim behind the slave cylinder when required by clutch manufacturer (SPEC Clutches).
- Improper bleeding of the hydraulics.
- Not spotlessly cleaning all clutch components before install. They must be spotless and residur free before install.

Make sure you check the rear main seal and rear cover gasket while you are in there. I didnt pay attention to them and they were failing. 500 miles into a new clutch break in, the rear main seal went out and took out my brand new textralia . All is fixed and well now, after buying a new clutch that is.
