Default replacing clutch disc

i am in bad need of a new clutch i was looking at a ls2/ls7 clutch but a buddy of mine has dual friction disc and lightened flywheel. would it be worth just changing the disc and doing nothing with the old preasure plate, or is the preasure plate soemthing that goes bad also in these cars. i can get the clutch disc and flywheel really cheap. this is why i am asking these questions or am i money ahead to just get the ls2/ls7.

Get a centerforce disc and PP. Have the flywheel resurfaced.
