confusing clutch

confusing clutch So I am driving down the road in 4th gear and I get on the gas and watch the rpm's go up, but the speed doesnt increase. At that moment and time I am like damn, I need a new clutch cause its slipping. Well then the next day I am driving and do the same thing just to see what happens and I dont see any slipping. So I do a drop from third to second to see if I can get it to slip, but no the clutch grabs like none other.
So what is going on here? I thought when clutches start to go, they progressivly get worse on slipping. But my clutch is like spuratic. I am very confused. Please Help.

Re: confusing clutch If your stock welcome to the LS1clutch woes.
00's & down have hydralic problems,& the pressure plates IMO are weak .
'Specially if your modd'd
Does it seem to have problems after you get on it.., i.e. heat up the clutch?
Maybe time to look into an aftermarket replacement.
If your car is 00 or older do the slave at least.
