Strange Grinding sometimes?

Another question...
Does the Reverse Gear have A syncro for it?
I ask because tonight when I was messing with it, it did that grinding/growling noise when i was in reverse and letting the clutch out. I only got it to do it once but it was the same noise its giving me in the other gears.
Also, i swapped the dope out. I put in GM Syncromesh (sp) and the grinding during shifting has stopped. Just the periodical/random growl only when Im letting the clutch out.
