wiring harness?

Im going to an M6 and am getting a harness for an M6. started taking it out (PITA!) and noticed it goes into the same loom as the wires going into the fire wall. do i need to split the loom to remove the trany harness?

You need to remove the whole engine harness. Take off the kick panel inside the passenger side interior. You need to unplug the two connectors and it will pull through the firewall.

It sounds like you are already well into removing the harness, but when we do an A4 to M6 swap I always just leave the A4 harness in the car. Just buy a couple of pig tail harnesses from your dealer for the backup lights and the reverse lockout and you'll be set. The backup lights can be wired from the Park/Neutral safety switch located on the auto shifter and the reverse lockout will function by re-pinning a wire to the proper location at the pcm (this will ground by the pcm) and wiring the other side to power.
