T56 or TKO?
I was looking at a purpose built Tremec with overdrive removed and gforce gears.
I was also looking at a built t56(six speeds inc., or someone else.)
This is going into a 3200lb Mustang.
Has anyone ever tried using a Bob Hanlon type 4 speed TKO or are all of you just using the T56?
And what clutch should I use? With a 150 shot, it made 798hp and 786tq
It has to be a single disc, but I want an adjustable pressure plate.

Unless you need a T56 for the double OD , I would go with the TKO600 . It will take a hell of a lot of abuse and should fit very well into the Mustang you are building . The biggest thing is figuring out the bellhousing and clutch setup .

No need for a double od.... car is track only
I will not use a hyd slave cylinder for the clutch. Do not like the feel of hyd clutches.
Will be a cable setup...

If its a track car only , go with the Pro Shifted TKO hands down . It will shift as good as any unit on the market in the same price range and is a little lighter than the T56 plus its got the 31 spline output shaft from the factory . I would use an aluminum flywheel and a racing style mini disc setup . As for using a cable clutch , that could be an issue depending on what you can come up with on bellhousings . I think there are scattershields to mate a Ford transmission to the GM block . I would also use a reinforced clutch fork as well as a heat shield on the clutch cable. DEI makes a nice one that works good on the Mustang cables .

Cool, thanks for the info. I am pretty sure Lakewood's scattershield has multiple bolt patterns for the T5, 3650, 3600 and TKO600. Also, Hanlon Motorsports has a Tremec setup for the GM engine with the correct input shaft and billet pilot bearing.
Hopefully this thing will be running at the end of Feb.
