Default T56 swap help

Yes, I've searched, yes I've read all 19 pages of sticky. I just finished up a T56 swap on my originally A4 car, and the ignition does not work. The key turns freely and I can't even get accessory power let alone the car to start. The battery works because the door lights go on, and the other lights work. Can anyone tell me what I missed? I need the ignition to at least turn to the on position so I can reflash to an M6 PCM tune. All plugs are in, the wires that needed to be connected in the sticky are connected, nothing happens.

check this thread - https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-transmission/200480-m6-a4-a4-m6-conversion-info-requested.html

Read the part about the troublesome fuses, "REWIRING instructions: (disconnect battery)

connect the orange w/ black stripe and the black wires directly together for the hatch release to work.

connect the purple w/ white stripe and the dark green to the clutch switch on the manual pedal assembly so the clutch pedal needs to be depressed before the car will start. Polarization does matter here. I forget which wire goes to each connector, but trial and error will solve this in 2 seconds. (do it right, use solder and heat shrink tubing).

connect light green and brown into the reverse switch located on the passenger side of the T56 for the reverse lights to work. You can buy the pigtail, or engineer a way to get the wires to hold and be protected. I put the wires in and pinched them into place. The pigtail will run about $50 of unneccesary spending. Polarization does not matter. (again, use solder and heat shrink when you add wire to these).

Also, the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) will need to be cut, and elongated by soldering on about 6 inches of extra wire to each wire going into the connector. This VSS will plug directly into the VSS port on the drivers side of the T56 by the shifter.

WATCH THE FOLLOWING FUSES: starter, gauges, Turn/BU lights."

this might or might not help, but i tried

I'm confused, you say the key turns freely but then say you can't get to acc or the on position? meaning the key won't turn in the ignition? maybe you locked the steering wheel making it hard to turn the key? If the key does turn in the ignition but those positions aren't doing anything, check the fuses, if those are good check the wires under the dash, if you moved the column you may have crushed the wires or accidentally cut them.

wrecked_vette thanks but I read all of the sticky. I found the problem today, my ignition switch was broken into pieces so when I turned the key it wouldn't do anything. I didn't think it was wiring since the key spun freely unless I locked the wheel.
