Hard to get into reverse
I noticed its been getting harder to put the car in reverse. This morning it took alot of strength to get in that gear. All the other gears work completely fine. What do you think is the problem? shift fork? tranny going out?

Are you having trouble pushing it over to the right, or pushing it up into gear? If it's an electrical issue, the solenoid will prevent you from pushing the shifter far enough to the right. If you have trouble pushing it up into gear, then it's probably a mechanical problem in the transmission or in the bellhousing.

i would bet on the hydralics the ls1 cars are known for that failure..try pumping the pedal and see if that works ... 1st should be the same way though most of the time... or try going to 1st then reverse ...

If it's hydraulics, you should sense the problem with every gear, even if it's only sporadic. Reverse tends to be the worst, but you'll still notice it with the other gears. If you're having trouble just pushing it up into reverse, then it's probably an internal transmission problem.

It might be the shift fork. I know my brothers 02 WS6 when he got it used 3 yrs ago it would pop out of 2nd. There was a bulletin my dad found (he works at a chevy dealer) on the shift forks. I guess some of them were like aluminum? and some were cast iron. So they replaced it with a cast iron fork. Fixed it. I know your concern is on reverse, but maybe it's a similar issue.
I noticed when I got my car last yr I changed the fluid to red line synthetic like GM called for and it made all the shifting feel smoother, but then i'm having problems getting in into reverse sometimes

Its difficult to get into reverse all the time. It takes two hands and almost full strength to get it in reverse when cold. when its warm i can do it one handed but its still pretty tough.

Mine was doing that, I changed fluid, and there was a noticeable different. Went right into reverse, even cold, and shifted smoother all the way around.
Cheap fix, I like that.

Ditto. Put it in 1st, ease the clutch out just enough to roll the car a tiny bit, then clutch in and shift into reverse. If you're forcing it, you're gonna break something.
