Default Where to buy 5/6 gear puller?

Someone mentioned the manufacturer of the gear puller, if I recall correctly its Kent Moore.

I was wondering where I could buy the gear puller? Or an alternative?

I know there are a few of you guys rebuilding your own transmissions and was wondering what you guys were using to do the job?

TIA

i dont recall exactly who makes it but i do know that it is specifically manufactured for GM. any tool guy at your local dealership (i.e. Mac, Snapon, cornwell) should carry them. BTW, there's not much out there for alternitaves. believe me i've tried...

Checked the Snap on site.

The cheapest thing with an 18"+ reach was $220. Found another one that was $770

Can you go to a GM dealership and buy the tool there?

well, technically, yes, but it would be from a tool guy and not a part/service department. i'll check with my tool guy next time he's around. the 220 number sounds about right on, because, you'll need that 18+ inches to make the pull.

I just used a regular 2 arm puller and cut out some 1/8 sheetmetal to extend the arms to the length you need.Looked cheesy but worked good. For reinstalling the gear I popped it in the toaster oven at 400 degrees for 5 minutes and it just slid on.
