Default Help diagnose clutch

My clutch isn't working I was at the track and made some passes and the last one I made everything was fine until after I slowed down and made my turn. At that point I couldn't get the car to go back into gear, it would just grind. Pumped the clutch a few times and it went into second. I thought I had overheated the clutch so I just let it cool down for a couple hours. Went to go home and found that it still wouldn't shift when the car is running. It shifts fine when not running but the clutch. After I got it home, I noticed that the resivor was dry so I added some brake fluid. I eventually got the bleeder opened on the slave and was able to let some fluid poor through and top off the resivor. Then I tried to bleed using a mightvac in the resivor but it is still getting air after an hour of bleeding. The other odd thing is sometimes I have a stiffer clutch pedal and other times it will stay on the floor? Anyone have any ideas before I give up and take it into a shop? Could my slave or master be bad. Could I possible need to adjust the master, and if so can the master be adjusted with it in the car, I have a McCleoud but a local shop installed it.

You are having hydraulic issues. Your tranny isn't allowing you to shift because it sounds like your clutch is not disengaging. That indicates low fluid or air in the hydraulic line.

Yes, your Mcleod master can be adjusted in the car. Just crawl under the dash and you will see the threaded push-rod. You need to extend the length of that rod. Try 1 full turn at a time then retest, it doesn't take much to change the pedal engagement point.

If your slave was bad, there would be some dripping of fluid at the bottom of your bellhousing where the slave is located. If its wet in that area, you might have a leaking slave.
