Hurst Billet Plus Question???
I thought of using the Hurst stick because of the bend, but you are right, it's too long. I was going to get a die so I could cut and thread it, but I never did.
I asked about the stop adjustments on here and sixspeeds inc said the T56 does not need the stops.
If you choose to cut the hurst stick down, the in factory form its 8.5" long. Most aftermarket shortsticks are 6-6.5", so cutting 2" off should work good enough.
here is a pic of the shifter i cut for my car. it is bolted to the factory hurst base. i built the same shifter for some of my other friends with 4th gen f-bodys

Also the T56 does have internal stops but if your shifter has them why not use them ?

The bottom is flattened and grooved to prevent slipping.
The only way to do it is to cut the top off and rethread it.
