I am about to wrap up my SPEC Stage 3 clutch install and am having trouble getting the adjustable mc to go in. It seems the U bolt is getting hung up on the bottom of the brake booster. I can not get the bolts to line up with the holes. They are a 1/4" below the holes. Any advice is appreciated. I am about to go get some bolts, nuts, flat & lock washers tomorrow and be done with it.

 

Sometimes that U bolt is a real pain. My advice would be to keep trying and get it in there the right way. You could bend your master shaft if there's any play in the mounting. It's actually a little easier if you try and reach it from the passenger side. You can see the holes from there, although you have to lay across the motor.

 

I will try that tomorrow after work. Need to let the hands heal some before I go tearing them up again.

 

Keith, you need a second person to make it go easier. I found that it's easier to reach around both sides of the brake booster to manuver the u-bolt while a second person with a flash light is looking under the dash to help guide you.

If you lived closer I would come over and help.

 

I had my brother helping, he skipped after 5 minutes. Too hot for him. I will have some more help with smaller hands tomorrow night. It should be done tomorrow night. Thanks

 

Removed the brake booster and have to bleed it tomorrow.

 

It is bled with an assist to the Mighty Vac. Took it around the block and all was good. Will need to get used to it though and adjust the pedal and bleed it again after a few more mile on it.
