Default Tailshaft Thread?

I am looking for what thread is in the output shaft on my T-56 (2000 Camaro)

I need to use it to install 5/6 gear but dont know the thread to find a bolt to install..

I'm not going to use a press like others have, pressing through bearings is not my favorite thing..

Any help is appreciated

Having a press, I never used the method of threading into the output shaft myself.

But This guy says M12.

I have heard M12 x 1.75, but haven't tried it. Let us know.

Thanks.

I have a press as well, but do not like pressing through bearings. using the press you put the full press force on your bearings. This is the reason i like to stay away from using a press. The threading method only puts load on the components that need it.. No bearings are recieving force.

I use a special driver we built to install the 5-6 gears on the main shaft when they are really tight .

I verified it is M12 x1.75 thread

However, i approached this differently.

I stuck the gear in the oven at 200 F, dropped it on, just tapped it with the PVC pipe and Viola, went right on

Yup, that works, but I don't want to be around when you have to pull it back off again... :-O
