Default Pilot Bearing Install???

I've tried searching and can only seem to find threads discussing how to remove the pilot bearing. What is the best way to install it?

One of two.

1. - use a socket the same size and beat it in till it's flush
2. - use a race bearing install kit you rent from autozone; it won't destroy the face.

Put the bearing into the freezer over night, then use method #1 or #2 listed above.

10th grade shop class taught me this is a no no, but I used two hammers. One on the face of the bearing while tapping it with another. Sometimes sockets leave marks.

I used a socket to install my pilot BUSHING... Being softer it marked the face up a bit. But since the trans input shaft doesnt really ride on the face, I didnt think it was a big deal.

But your best bet is the race installer. I ALMOST didnt return that rent a tool set when I was done with it. I use it so much for doing rears and all. They come in handy.
