Default is it the tranny or gears
i hear a noise when ever i shift into 5th and 6th it sounds like a whirrling noise but i really dont know where its comming from

Is it a quick noise right as you are trying to put the transmission in that gear and then it goes away ?

no its real loud and it stays it sounds like a whissle but for the whole time i have it in 5th a 6th it gets louder

Only in 5 and 6 gear ? How about 3rd gear ?

I'd have to hear it . Try getting the car up to speed in 5th or 6th and give and let off the gas pedal to see if the noise changes .

check your fluid

mine made a noise like that and once i filled the fluid up it went away

same with my differential
