Default Re-use stock flywheel

If I get a spec stg 3 clutch can I re-use the stock flywheel without having it machined or should I buy a billet steel flywheel?

I would also recommend just buying a new one. id money is tight atleast have it resurfaced. I think it shouldnt cost more than 100.

By no means should you re-use an unsurfaced flywheel. At the very least have the flywheel surfaced and check it to insure that it is flat. Remember, that removing more tha .015 from the surface will effectively thin it enough to cause geometry issues. I would really consider getting a new flywheel so as to avoid any future issues attributed to lack of flat surfaces (reduced capacity, life, and increase potential for chatter). I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

I re-used mine after cleaning is up 0.10". It MUST be re-surfaced, there is no other way to re-use unless you want to do another clutch change in 1,000 miles. Also, I would suggest a 3+. The 3+ is full faced where as the 3 is a 6 puck. I have now used both & strongly suggest the 3+ over the 3 even if your power level doesn't require it. The re-surfacing of my flwheel was $50.
Also, you must have the pressure plate & flywheel assembly balanced. This will cost another $50, but, needs to be done regardless of whether or not a re-surface flywheel or new flywheel is used. Good-luck
