Default oil cooler?

is it stupid to run an external oil cooler to a t-56? My first thought is that its a great idea but i never hear 6spd guys talk about em. Only the autos get a stock cooler right? why? any reasons not too?

This has been discussed recently in this forum. While not stupid, 99-44/100 % of the time it's not needed. Auto's use friction (heat) as part of their operation, manuals only when shifting, and very little then.

Seems like a lot of complexity for little gain, IMO. You'd not only need the extra plumbing and the cooler, you'd also need a pump to circulate the fluid.
