I’m going to hopefully CC the intake runner and chamber this week to confirm just exactly where these are at. They may actually be larger than 225 runners so time to be positive about it. I was actually told they were closer to 235cc.

Verified intake runner to be right around 236cc and chambers are a shade over 65cc as I had one tiny bb size bubble that did not purge out of the chamber.

Last price drop. Also to clear up as I’ve had some PM’s about rockers. Pretty sure these heads require some type of roller tip rocker, OEM will not work.

Unless they have had work done to the rocker mount bosses then stock rockers should work, The T&D rockers you listed work with stock head so I don't see why stock wouldn't work on these heads if the T&D worked on them. Are you selling bare heads? Might have overlooked it but aren't these small bore heads?

For the life of me I always thought you needed to use something other than OEM on AFR’s. However looking at the AFR 230’s at the foot notes, it just has a disclaimer about OEM rocker and aggressive springs. I’d probably sold these 5x over by now for my lack of not knowing that.

Heads have valves and springs, just disassembled to clean up is all.

Believe these are a porter casting as the end of the head clearly has AFR branding but just says CNC instead of AFR P/N. If they started with 225 castings and 65cc chambers I think they’d be considered small bore but a 2.08 valve will fit a 3.90 bore and up.

However based on the below pic is also why I thought OEM would not work (that pic is from the original owner of these heads). Now knowing what I do, if a BTR spring setup was purchased you could run bushinged OEM.

That picture is interesting, I have AFR Mongoose 230's and I use stock rockers with trunion upgrade.

Perhaps Ed Curtis did not use the AFR 8019’s or were they even around in 2009 lol? That’s the time stamp on these heads when original owner purchased. They only have 1000mi. on them in that timeframe. There was mention that Ed may have used some race spring whatever that may be as it seems not logical on the cam profile. A current generation dual spring would certainly suffice.

It’s clearly the diameter that’s the issue not height. In fact I could probably take the LS9 spring and throw it on there with the exhaust rocker from a set of 823’s I have for a picture sake.

I would assume an offset rocker stand is the same height as a cathedral, so I’d be inclined to say the OEM rocker stands would need shimmed up. The T&’D’s were also shimmed.

Weekend bump and clarification on springs.

They are Kmotion K-800 springs.

If someone were to want to use these with OEM rockers I believe the AFR 8019's are what you'd be after in place of these.

Added some items I’d also consider for trade or partial trade inestimable post
